S Club 7

Hello Everybody!
Some of you will know this (if you follow my Twitter or Instagram) that yesterday I went to see S Club 7's reunion tour! It was AMAZING and if you can still get tickets, I recommend you go!

The 'Warm Up Act', if you like, was called 'A.J. Lehrman' and he was actually quite good.

S Club still had all the dance moves and sang all their greatest hits, which was really entertaining!

Internet Safety || Your friends

Hello Everyone,
Most people don't realize how much of a big and scary place the internet can be. It is home to cyber-bullying and is a place where horrible people can groom younger or more vulnerable people.

Social Media is a great way to connect with people such as your friends and family, but, it's super important to keep your Instagram/Facebook or whatever social media account private for many reasons, such as;

  • You don't know who is looking at your photos, do you really want a stranger to be watching what you have to say, what you do with your friends or peering over your selfies and pictures?
  • Identity theft - yep! Someone can steal your identity
  • Potential Employers can see what you are tagged in, commenting on and other various aspects of your day to day life if your profile is not private, and there are numerous ways this could put them off hiring you-and plenty of examples to look at!
Snapchat is a common form of social media now, and as the pictures 'disappear' within whatever time limit you set, they can still be 'Screen-Shotted' or 'Snap-Saved'. Whatever you post on the internet stays on the internet forever...

What You Can Do

Facebook allows it's users to set many privacy settings, such as not letting people who aren't your friends view your profile, images and cover photos/profile pictures. To read more on how you can secure your Facebook Profile, Please click here.

Twitter is 'All or Nothing' when it comes to privacy, and that is up to you. Just make sure that you keep what you want private off your Twitter account if it's Public, and don't tweet anything horrible.

As for Snapchat, it has two privacy settings. One for who can send you snaps, and another for who can see your story. For who can send you snaps, you have two options - 'Everyone' and 'My Friends'. And for who can view your Snapchat Story, there are three options which are; 'Everyone', 'My Friends' and 'Custom'. 'Custom' is where you have the option to choose which ones of your friends can and can not see your story. If you want to read more of the Snapchat privacy settings, please click here.  Remember, not all Snapchats disappear!

Finally, on Instagram you can set your profile to Private or Public (like Twitter), although Instagram do have a lot of information on their privacy settings available to you. If you want to read them, please click here.

I hope this post has been useful to you all, and please please please remember to keep your profiles private and only post what you wouldn't mind to be on the internet forever!

Spring / Summer Haul

Hello Everybody!
I've been looking forward to doing this blog post all week, and it will be clearly split into shops, or brands etc .

Boots

In Boots, I bought the 'Soap And Glory, Mist You Madly' Body Spray for £4. I also picked up the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in the shade 001 Transparent as I had heard super good reviews about this and have wanted to try it out for some time now!

Lush

Firstly I purchased Rose Queen Bath Bomb (£2.75), mainly because I wanted to try out a new bath item. I'm not too sure about the rose scent, although depending on my mood, I'm sure I will love it!

Then I bought the Twilight Bath Bomb for £3.35. I recently bought this bath bomb (about two weeks
ago) and I loved the smell of it sooo much I had to get it again today!

I didn't buy this bath bomb myself, but I still haven't used it since Easter, and it is the Golden Egg Bath Bomb. IT SMELLS TOO GOOD! I can't bring myself to use it and waste the smell!

Finally, I bought the Butterball Bath Bomb for £2.65. I think the main reason I bought this is because my sister has it along with the Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb, and she recommended it to me.

Topshop

So me being me I looked in the sale first at Topshop, and spotted these Leigh Jeans reduced from £38 to £25 so of course I picked it up!

Primark

So I basically picked up your bog standard 'Stretchy Camis' for £1.80 each. I picked up one in Black, White and Flesh-coloured. ('Flesh-coloured' is such a weird term!) I also bought some Black Leggings which were £3 and are super soft!
I also bought a pair of sunglasses for £1.50 and some new eyelash curlers for £1.

I hope you have enjoyed this haul!

Social Media and Your Blog

Hello Everybody!
Have you ever wondered about how you can promote your blog on social media such as Twitter and Instagram? Well wonder no more!

Twitter

Twitter is a great way to promote your blog because:
  • Links - People can click on your blog link there and then, unlike Instagram where they have to go to your profile to then click on the link
  • ReTweets - It's so much easier to promote your blog when there are accounts out there who ReTweet your blog and get you more views and potential followers!
  • Community - You can easily join the blogger 'Community' by using hashtags and reading other blogs and then leaving nice comments. It's a great way to make new friends and new readers!
  • Trends - Looking at what's trending on Twitter and then starting to tweet about one of the topics as well gets you more notice, and even more followers!
Instagram

  • In Instagram, viewers have to go to your personal bio to get the link to your blog. This demotivates potential readers who are simply too lazy or can not be bothered to go find your blog!
  • You can have almost unlimited captions, which are good for hashtags!
  • There are endless hashtags such as Like For Like and Follow For Follow, which get you (obviously) more likes on a picture or followers

  • Remember, if you do decide to use Twitter, don't just post links to your blog as this can be irritating and annoying to followers!
  • The same applies to Instagram, don't bore your readers!

Blogging Bad

Hello everybody,
How are you Blogging Bad? Here is some of my advice on "Blogging Bad".

  • Choose a layout/design that suits you! - I don't mean you can't ask others for help, but when choosing a blog design, make sure its the one that speaks to you otherwise it wont be your blog. When I have been designing mine, I asked everybody else that knows about my blog for their opinions, and I lost track of what I want and therefore spent longer on it.
  • Choose a font that is readable -If your posts are good, why let yourself down by having a font that others struggle to read? If you really don't know if a font you like is easy to read, why not ask someone else to proof read a sample text in it for you?
  • Don't force any posts out -If you are really struggling to think of one try brainstorming but never try and write one for the sake of it.
  • Try not to go for more than three colours when designing your blog, because this can make your blog seem hectic and very busy/distracting. Also, try not to use darker colours, as thye can be linked to scam websites.
  • Finally, it is proven that dark text on a light/white background is easier to read for more people than light text on a dark background. Don't ask me why, but it is!

Head to Head - Rimmel Mascaras

Hello everybody,
So my last 'Head to Head' seemed to be popular, so I have decided to write another one... On Rimmel mascaras! Hope you enjoy!
Before we compare products, here is just a summary of each product!

Rimmel London-'Volume Flash Scandal Eyes Mascara'

I purchased this mascara when a close friend recommended it to me. I love this product, and might even find myself purchasing it again. Although, I do find that throughout the day I need to top it up, as it does wear off! This is about the only negative thing I can say about this mascara!

Rimmel London-'Scandal Eyes Rockin' Curves Mascara'

This mascara was a gift at Christmas last year (2014), and I have loved it ever since-despite the fact that I have somewhat replaced it with the 'Volume Flash'! I find the wand makes it super easy to apply, however it can clump quite frequently!

The Wand

Both can 'glide' through your lashes smoothly, but the 'Scandal Eyes, Rockin' Curves Mascara' has a curved applicator, which does make the mascara spread more easily over your eyelashes.  I find that with the 'Rockin' Curves' mascara, the very end of the wand tends to leave a small clump of mascara on my inner eyelashes, which can be very irritating. However, the 'Volume Flash' mascara's brush does go through your lashes easier, and tends to clump less. I definitely prefer the 'Volume Flash'.

Texture/Consistency

'Volume Flash' has a ever so thicker consistency than 'Rockin' Curves'. I think that the 'Rockin Curves' mascara has a stickier texture and I believe this is why it can be clumpier.

Packaging

I find the 'Volume Flash' a more attractive packaging than the 'Rockin' Curves' and I think this is because it's simpler. The 'Rockin' Curves' has a textured "body" and to help create the scales effect, the colour scheme is red and black. I just think the 'Volume Flash''s solid colour design makes it stand out more, and so much easier to read!

I hope you have enjoyed this 'Head To Head', and I do promise that not all of them will be on Rimmel products!! if you would like to read my other 'Head to Head' review on Rimmel Foundations, please click here.
