Thankyou

Hello everybody,
This is a thank-you blog post dedicated to all my readers, followers, friends and family.

As some of you know if you follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Tumblr, I recently hit 700 views on my blog. and for me this was actually amazing. The thought of probably 200 (or even more) people reading my blog once or even twice was so overwhelming!
When I started this blog, I never thought I'd get this many page views so quickly, and I have also managed to receive five followers on Blogger!! To some of you that doesn't mean anything as there are famous people out there such as Zoella (who has just reached 8 million subscribers!) who have thousands and millions of followers/fans but for me I have 5. And I am very proud of those five.
So thank-you to all of you reading this, and to all of you who read my posts. Another big thank-you to of you supporting me in different ways.

Love L xx

P.S, My blog posts aren't normally like this is! If you are new then be sure to check out some of my other posts!

Sunday Funday

Hello everybody,
Today I thought I would post a 'Day in the life of me', in which I went to the amazing, huge park near me with friends and family before my family and I headed on over for a pub lunch where we stuffed ourselves with their scrummy carvery. Take me there any day!

Where have you been?

Hello everybody,
If some of you don't follow my twitter then you wont know that I have being redesigning my blog. I have to admit, it has taken up a lot of my time and so much has happened since I have being doing this.
My blog is still "Under Maintenance", meaning I am still editing things like my header and colour scheme so don't be surprised if you look at my blog one day and its pink and the next it's blue! I have loads of blog posts all ready to publish this week, including my April Favourites! I hope you are all as exited as I am to post these.
I'm sorry this blog post isn't a typical one, and if you are new to my blog, feel free to check out my other posts as this one sure isn't my finest! I just thought I should let my readers know why I haven't been very active lately.

Earth Day-April 22nd

Hello Everybody,
As some of you may know Earth Day is an annual event that occurs every year on the same day, the 22nd of April. This is celebrated in more than 192 countries worldwide and this year is it's 45th anniversary. So, I thought I would share with you all some facts about Earth Day!

  • The first Earth Day was on the 22nd of April, 1970

  • On the very first Earth Day, 20 million people gathered in the streets of America to protest the industrial revolution. An environmental movement was born as a result.
  • On Earth Day 2012, more than 100,000 people rode bikes in Chine to reduce CO2 emissions and save fuel
  • In an Earth Day celebration in 2011, 28 million trees were planted in Afghanistan by the Earth Day Network

Animal Testing

Hello Everybody,
Quite a while ago actually, I began writing a post on animal testing, and it was quite a lengthy one. However, it got deleted by mistake and so I have decided to rewrite it again for you all!
This is the logo that companies use when they have signed documents with PETA.

Companies that DO Test On Animals:

  1. Avon
  2. Bobbi Brown
  3. Clinique
  4. Cover Girl
  5. Dove (I was quite surprised hearing that Dove still test on animals!)
  6. Eco Lab
  7. Giorgio Armani
  8. MAC cosmetics
  9. Maybelline
  10. Max Factor
  11. Michael Kors
  12. Neutrogena
  13. Origins
  14. Pantene
  15. Smash Box Cosmetics
  16. Tom Ford Beauty
  17. TRESemme
  18. Vaseline
Companies that DO NOT Test On Animals:
  1. Abercrombie & Fitch
  2. Adidas
  3. Barry M
  4. Batiste
  5. Bourjois
  6. Charlotte Tilbury
  7. Eco Tools
  8. Illamasqua
  9. John Frieda
  10. Lee Stafford
  11. Lush
  12. Miss Sporty
  13. NARS
  14. Nubar
  15. Sanctuary Spa
  16. Sleek Makeup
  17. Soap and Glory
  18. The Body Shop
I am against animal testing, and I am glad that some of my favorite brands (Lush, The Bod Shop, Soap and Glory etc) do not test on animals. I find that I definitely shop and buy more products from those who do not test on animals, and I hope you do too! No animal should have to endure pain and torture simply for our benefit. Why not test on pedophiles in prison? What is so different between testing on animals and testing on vicious criminals? This is just my opinion though.

I know Lush do a lot of work against animal testing, and they even did this stunt to raise awareness of animal testing for cosmetic use. If you would like to see the video, click here. Or, if you want to read the article and see the video click here.

Please feel free to leave some comments below if you have any more questions. I have missed some well known brands or shops off these lists and of course, your views. If you would like to know more on this topic, here are a few websites you can go to; http://www.thevegetariansite.com/ethics_test.htm http://features.peta.org/cruelty-free-company-search/index.aspx

See yous later x

Top tips to lighten your hair

Hello Everybody,
Before I had my hair highlighted, which was done in the shade 'sun-kissed', I used many homemade ways to lighten my hair, but dont worry! If DIY isn't for you, I'll include some stuff about drugstore products that are available. So, I thought I'd share my top tips with you!

When life gives you lemons...

...Use them to lighten your hair! Many have heard of this method as I believe that it is commonly used. Lemon Juice is a citric acid, and when it heats up in the sun , it opens up the cuticle and the pigment is lifted out the hair. To do this, apply lemon juice to your hair before going outdoors on a sunny day. You can also mix orange and lemon juice together for a more golden highlight, and if you have darker hair this will leave you with caramel highlights! Sit in the sun for approximately 1-2 hours, before shampooing and conditioning your hair as normal.

Sweets for my sweets, sugar for my...

...Honey! Yes, honey can lighten your hair-well, honey and a few other ingredients. Mix some honey with water and then leave it in your hair for over 2 hours, when your hair is  covered by a shower cap. Then wash and condition your hair as normal.

Sun kissed lightening spray.

I have this spray by Lee Stafford, and normally his products smell really nice, however, this particular one does not. In fact, I hate it's smell! Smell aside, this product does seem to work very subtly and I do not think I will be purchasing this again-besides the fact that I like it.

Thankyou for reading lovelies, and there are more lightening products to buy online, in drugstores (like boots) or if home remedies are for you... Work it!

Things I've learnt so far from life

Hi guys,
I don't do many "inspiring" posts, but I thought I'd give one a go.

1) Family isn't always blood, to me, Family is the people around you that accept you for who you really are. They should love you no matter what and always be there for you, and vice versa.

2) You shouldn't change for anybody-unless you are like being horrible to them or something. Your friends, family and people around you should accept you for who you are, and if you are someone who doesn't like sport when one of your friends does or if you are someone who likes a style or brand, but someone else you know doesn't then they should accept that you don't like sport or that you like a certain style and not try to get you to be a huge sport enthusiast or into their style of fashion. Another thing, is that you should not try and change your interests or hobbies or anything about yourself to impress somebody, if it's meant to be, it'll be.

3) "Once somebody has styled your hair, chosen your clothes and perfected your makeup, there's not much left of who you really are", and this is very true. This was a quote from a video on Facebook I watched, and it was from women who had themselves photo-shopped to look like a model from a magazine. Your style is what makes you unique and reflects your personality, so why would you let somebody change what reflects yourself.

4) "Your value doesn't decrease, based on someone's inability to see your worth".-Unknown.

Hope you enjoyed this.
See yous.

Head to Head-Rimmel Foundations

Hello Everybody!
Hope you are all having a lovely day, today I thought I would do a 'Head To Head' with my Rimmel
foundations, Match Perfection in the shade 101 Classic Ivory and Wake Me Up in the shade 100 Ivory.

Wake Me Up Foundation, RRP £8.99

I love this foundation! The only reason why I purchased it, is because of the good reviews everyone has given it. 'Everythinganything' had told me some really good stuff about this, and let me try her foundation out-as we are a similar shade. I find this foundation gives me a really 'awake' look, which is good as that's what it claims to be 'Skin Brightening'. However, what puts me off is that it has a low very light coverage and it sparkles in the sun, like full on glitter! I end up looking like a vampire when it's sunny, which I know isn't often in Britain but still! With this foundation I find a little goes a long way, as too much can leave you looking orange in my opinion. This foundation has an SPF 15, and as much as I love it, I doubt I will be purchasing this again.

Match Perfection Foundation, RRP £6.99

This foundation feels like a higher-end one, and has a medium-light coverage but is definitely build-able. It feels very light on your skin, and I would recommend this to people who want a high-end foundation, but do not want to pay as much for it. Rimmel also do a Match Perfection Concealer (RRP £5.99) and Match Perfection Powder (RRP £5.99), so if you buy this foundation, you can use the 'correct' or 'more suited' powder and concealer for your face. I have not purchased any other Match Perfection products other than this foundation.

As this is the first proper review, I promise I am not as pessimistic as I may sound in this 'Head To Head'.
I'll love ya and leave ya!
